2023 Madison County Give Local Piedmont Community Partner Lunch

On April 6th, The Northern Piedmont Community Foundation hosted our Give Local Piedmont Community Partner Lunch Event in Madison County. The luncheon brought together Madison nonprofits and NPCF staff to share updates on their ongoing and upcoming projects. Numerous nonprofit organizations, such as Madd Catts, The Literacy Council of Madison, and Skyline Capp were in attendance. Northern Piedmont Community Foundation’s Executive Director, Jane-Bowling-Wilson, provided an update on the foundation’s latest programs, including Youth In Philanthropy, NPCF Academic Scholarships, available NPCF Grant Funding and Give Local Piedmont.

A healthy amount of time was also spent on the “Community Partner Round Table Discussion” segment of the lunch. The discussion centered around finding ways to better communicate with the community about the work nonprofits are doing. Areas of communication such as word of mouth, traditional print publications and social media were discussed. The overall conclusion from the group was that the best PR strategy should involve a bit of every communication avenue listed. Another valuable piece of information generated from this conversation was using QR codes in all visual publications. A QR code is a digital code that can be created for free using websites, such as Canva.com. Once created, this image can hold specific information inside that, once scanned, will direct the viewer to the detailed information page or link embedded inside the code.

The Northern Piedmont Community Foundation’s goal is to host monthly site visits with our nonprofit community partners. The value of scheduling a site visit with NPCF is twofold. First, it allows the foundation to learn about the new or current programs your nonprofit is working on. Then, our foundation can share that information with our followers on social media, email lists, donors, and more!
