2021-2025 Strategic Vision

1. Harness local philanthropy

One of the most crucial functions NPCF serves is as a bridge between organizations doing good work and the folks who want to support their cause. Our strategic plan for the coming five years therefore re-centers our focus on building, sustaining, and deepening our ties to the philanthropists in our community, including past, future, and potential funders.

Over the next four years, NPCF will be implementing data-driven strategies to seek out and get to know new donors; cultivating new programs to serve our current donors, including new planned giving programs; and developing seminars and other means of educating the general public about our work and how they can get involved.

2. Promote equity and inclusion for all

NPCF recognizes that intentions aren't the same as impact, and have committed ourselves to taking a hard, honest look at what we can do to bring true equity to the piedmont region.

Internally, we'll be analyzing our past giving data to understand the equity of grant distribution and making necessary shifts; we'll also be offering a series of trainings for NPCF staff and board. NPCF will also be focusing on new ways to engage underserved populations in the region, including building relationships with local government bodies and reaching out to new orgs and entities to exchange strategies.

3. Strengthen partnerships with community organizations

Our community ties are one of NPCF's greatest resources, and we want to ensure we don't take them for granted. Our strategic plan for next four years calls for a recommitment to existing relationships and strategies for fostering and sustaining new ones.

We'll be collaborating regularly with other civic and community organizations and foundations to understand and address unmet needs and critical issues, and facilitating workshops that bring donors and NPOs together to forge new connections. Our work with current and new partners will also focus on developing strategies for more efficient use of community resources.

Finally, we will be looking at how we can better use our annual Give Local Piedmont event to highlight nonprofit work and help sustain their budgets all year round.
